Dr. Russ Horowitz is the Director, Emergency and Critical Care Ultrasound at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. This webinar will allow the learner to use point-of-care ultrasound to search for and diagnosis three (3) abdominal pathologies common in pediatrics: intussusception, appendicitis, and pyloric stenosis. The scanning techniques along with tips and pitfalls will be discussed for each condition.

Dr. Sachita Shah, Associate Professor, Division of Emergency Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle WA will discuss the use of a novel cardiopulmonary ultrasound protocol for use in patients presenting with undifferentiated dyspnea in resource-limited settings. The webinar will provide information on prevalent causes of dyspnea with comparison of low/middle and high income countries, and how ultrasound can be used to improve diagnostic capacity at the bedside.

Gregory V. Hickman, MD, Medical Director and Anesthesia Director from the Andrews Institute, ASC discusses the "Hickman Flip" approach for interscalene catheter placement, and the benefits and his success with this approach. Dr. Hickman also lists the indications for using interscalene block and catheters and explains how to use point-of-care ultrasound to identify anatomy and assist with the procedure.
